Not sure what other codes work for the 5th Gen but this would be a great thread for anyone else to share. After you get the fault codes there is another tool called a fault code analyzer that lets you input all of your specific codes. These are the codes that worked for my 2018 but supposedly they are for all 2004+ 4Runners (they are the second set of codes for each input on the ScanGauge website ) You fill in the SPN and FMI numbers that ScanGauge D gives you and it returns the Cummins fault code plus an explanation of what the code is about. Odd that this has happened only after years of using the SCii without problems.Hopefully this saves someone the time of trying all of the different sets of X-Gauge codes like I just did. I figured the ODB connector had gotten loose due to expansion/contraction on these hot days and was planning to just order a new ODB cable for the unit. However, I have used these gauges in several cars for at least 6 years now, and we've had heat like this before. Have other ScanGauge II users experienced problems with "Phantom Error Codes" being sent by their Scan Gauge II unit?Ī possible factor today that can't be excluded from this was that we experienced 100 degree (F) heat, so the SGII unit certainly baked all day long in the sun. So while I think their conclusion is complete BS, I can't argue the fact that unplugging the unit apparently cleared the fault.
